The Old Barn is situated on a quiet lane amidst rolling farmland about 2
kilometres from the increasingly-popular South East Coastal Drive. This luxurious property is set adjacent to the farmhouse home of the owners, yet is totally secluded with its own parking, garden and entrances. There's a small, secluded cove only a short walk away, with larger, beautiful, safe sandy beaches within easy driving distance. Located in the heart of the Waterford Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area), there is a rich tradition of Irish music in the many pubs nearby. Within minutes of
the seaside resorts of Ardmore and Youghal, and the thriving harbour town of Dungarvan, Old Parish has the best of everything in the "Sunny South East" Getting to The Old Barn
Directions to The Old Barn
From the N25 through Dungarvan
In Dungarvan, follow the ring road (N25) around the town in the direction of Cork. The last roundabout on the ring road is called the Youghal Road roundabout. Go right here (signposted N25 Cork). After about 1.5 miles there is a turning to the left, signposted An Rinn and Heilbhic. This is the R674. Take this turning, and continue along this road for about 5
miles. Don't make any turns for Ring, just keep going straight, following the signs for An Sean Phobal (Old Parish) (You're now in the Gaeltacht). After these 5 miles, you'll come to a pub on your right called John Paul's (yellow building). John Paul's is on a crossroads. Take the left turn at these crossroads. Follow the road for a mile to the T-junction at the bottom. Turn left at the T-junction (signposted Ceann Heilbhic (Helvick Head)). We are the seventh dwelling house, counting those being built, on the left about a mile down this road. You should see the barn first, which is in front of the house, which is painted creamy yellow. We're on the corner, but turn into the double gates before the road swings around. A few yards down the drive is a parking area in front of the Old Barn. Please park up here. All in all it's about a 9 mile trip from Dungarvan. From the N25 from the direction of Cork / Youghal Follow the N25 in the direction of Dungarvan / Waterford. Some miles after Youghal, the N25 goes through a village called Grange which isn't signposted but there is a large church to your right as you drive through. Shortly after this church, on the left is a white building which is the Grange Glanbia creamery (it has a Glanbia sign saying "Grange" on it). About a mile or so after the creamery, on the right is a white-painted pub called "Flemings Bar". This pub is directly on a right turning, so take this turning (signposted An Sean Phobal – Old Parish). Keep going along this road for about 5 miles or so. Along the way you'll come to a STOP sign at a crossroads, go straight ahead here and keep going.
After a while, the road swings to the left and ahead in the distance you'll see the school, church and churchyard. Keep going. You'll drive past the school and church and shortly after you'll reach John Paul's pub which is on your left. John Paul's is on a crossroads. Take the right turn at these crossroads. Follow the road for a mile to the T-junction at the bottom. Turn left at the T-junction (signposted Ceann Heilbhic (Helvick Head)). We are the
